A great Football Experience located in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Feel the steel-like grip of a real bird of prey’s talons with this excellent falconry experience. This full day affair starts with a tour of the centre, giving all the information you need about the birds you will be meeting, including the history of this age old activity and the differences between hawks, falcons and owls. Get some expert training in the art of bird of prey handling and get close up to some of the birds to get you feeling comfortable. After that warm up, move to full on falconry and see these majestic birds swoop and soar over the Cheshire landscape when you head out with a bird. The thrill of having a bird of such power land on your arm is like no other. Lunch is included.
Approximately once a month, both weekdays and weekends. Dates fill up quickly, so book several weeks in advance and allow even longer for popular summer weekend dates.
Cancellation will only occur in extreme weather conditions and in that event, would be re-booked for an alternative date. If in doubt please call the venue to confirm.
Your experience will last between six and seven hours.
Up to five people take part, with an accompanying falconer.
You can bring one spectator at a cost of £25, which includes entry, lunch and refreshments. This is payable on the day, but must be booked at least one week in advance by calling the venue direct.
Dress for the outdoors, with wellingtons or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is particularly bad.
Minimum age is 16. You need to be reasonably fit as the day involves a fair amount of walking, often over uneven ground and therefore is unsuitable for infirm or disabled people.
Why not bring along a camera and/or a pair of binoculars if you have them? And it would be a shame not to catch one of the flying displays that take place throughout the day.
