Enjoy the unique sensation of flexi wing microlight aviation with this exhilarating 60 minute flying experience based in Hull. Begin on solid ground with a detailed pre-flight briefing before hopping into the cockpit of the microlight with a fully qualified pilot to get ready for the ride ahead. Once in the sky, take in the sensational bird’s-eye views of the East Yorkshire coast whilst the pilot navigates the microlight through the air. During the flight (at the discretion of the pilot), take over the reins to experience the unrivalled joys of open-cockpit aviation first-hand. For those who catch the flying bug, this flight time can count towards a Microlight Private Pilot’s Licence.

Thursday – Tuesday all year round (the centre is closed on Wednesdays).

Due to weather dependency, flights can be cancelled at very short notice so it is essential to call for confirmation before setting off on the day. Any cancellations are re-booked.

How long does the experience last?

Expect to be at the venue for up to 90 minutes including a briefing and 60 minute flight.

How many other people?

The briefing may be shared, but all flight time is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified pilot.

Can I take people to watch?

Spectators are welcome to watch take-off and landing (it is advised to bring binoculars or a camera!) and the airfield has an on-site cafe and viewing area. Sorry, no pets are permitted.

What do I wear?

These microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. We recommend long trousers, closed in shoes, socks and long sleeve jumpers. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum height is 4′ and maximum height is 7′. Maximum weight is 18 stone, minimum age is 16 and maximum age is 79. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian are required to sign a disclaimer.

Anything Else?

This flying time can count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
