Scrap the thought of supercars and any other flashy machines, the chance to drive an 8.5 tonne JCB digger around a specially designed Diggerland course is a truly invigorating experience. These diggers are capable of nipping round at 20 mph, and it feels even quicker at the helm of the giant excavator! Take on the challenge of defeating the rest of the field and qualifying for the grand final where the fastest eight drivers will do battle to become the ultimate digger racing champion. At the end of the JCB racing session, enjoy free rein of the Diggerland Kent adventure theme park for a day of unbridled family fun.

Twice a year, usually one Sunday in May and one Sunday in September. Extra dates will be added to meet demand if necessary.

Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions like heavy snow, flooding or high winds, which would make it dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt.

How long does the experience last?

Lasts around four hours including a briefing, introduction to the JCBs, tuition, around 20 minutes driving time, debrief and presentation.

How many other people?

A maximum of 24 people take part.

Can I take people to watch?

Two spectators are welcome to come along free of charge. Bring additional guests for £19.95 each (payable on the day), which includes access to Diggerland Park (under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).

What do I wear?

Bring a change of clothes and shoes/boots that you don’t mind getting muddy or dusty. If it’s raining, bring wellies and overalls if you have them (trainers are no good in the wet, you’ll be slipping all over the place).

Are there any restrictions?

Minimum age is 17. You must hold a full driving licence (and bring it along on the day), but you don’t need any other special licences or experience.

Anything Else?

Please note that if any participant appears to be unfit due to alcohol, drugs or any other reason, event staff reserve the right to stop them taking part.
